How To Double Your HVAC Sales In 90 Days

Tired of "being close" but not closing the sale?
Read this...

Hello HVAC Dealer and Friend,

It’s frustrating. You earn some leads and schedule some sales appointments. You spend time performing a thorough equipment survey and giving out your sales proposals. Then it happens.

You hear those phrases all HVAC salespeople really dislike: "We need to think about it." Or maybe it's: "We're still shopping... but we'll get back with you." (Yeah, right.) While we're at it, let's add, "I'm just looking right now" and "That's too expensive; I'll just keep what I've got." Doesn't matter which one you hear. All of them mean "No sale". Again. If any of these do sell, it's usually after you've whacked out most of the profit or had to throw in the moon to get it.

The problem with closing more sales is not your products or your product knowledge. It's not the weather, the economy, or even your prices. And no, it's not because your customer is "cheap" since most of your prospects end up buying from someone.

The reason they didn't buy from you is because you didn't powerfully deliver and close on your sales message. That's it. We'll look at every piece of that message here, but please know this first:

It's costing you. Big time. Every missed sale means you paid for the lead, plus scheduling, presenting your offer and any follow up. (You also pay for the false hope that goes with it.) Throwing away all this raw cost makes you an "unpaid presenter". You're giving away your time and giving customers a free appraisal on each unclosed sale. Hard to make a living on those.

Yet the raw cost is nothing compared to the opportunity cost. And you won't like this at all.

If you don't close the sale - which averages nearly 70% of the time - you send these prospects to buy elsewhere. So after you've spent the time and money on them, 70% of them buy from your competition. There goes the sale plus their future service, maintenance agreements, upsales and all their referrals. And that's with every lost sale.

You may say,"So what? A few missed closes. No big deal." But this can kill your business. Let's be conservative and say you miss just 2 sales a week from either too few leads or poor sales practices. In one short year, those 2 sales a week at a $4,000 system average is just like having over...

$400,000 snatched from your checking account, deposited to that of competitors.

That's an $800,000 swing in fortunes, no matter how you look at it. All from missing 2 sales a week.

Still "No big deal?" Now, consider all the future service, maintenance agreements, free referrals... it gets staggering. (I knew you wouldn't like it.) But even though you've only read one page of what I have to tell you, hear me on this: The gush of money that exits your fingers is not fully your fault. That's why strong presentation and value-building strategies add instant dollars while gaining better, higher-margin customers. (I say, lose the cheap customers anyway!)  Knowing and using these sales hot buttons is like finding money. You can do it too.  It's all in presentation and message delivery.
